Zolon provides database and application maintenance, production and change support, new development (from requirements analysis to implementation), programming, and application and report enhancements – in fact, full life cycle operations and maintenance (O&M) of databases and applications. We also provide application performance and monitoring, testing, training, support and consultation for hardware, software and peripherals, Help Desk support services and all technical and user documentation for data and database support services. We also offer services in data systems conversion and Web-based data application design, studies of new and emerging data technology, data Disaster Recovery services and Network Security.
Zolon has extensive experience in providing database maintenance and support services; indeed, database development, installation, operation and maintenance is a core competency and one upon which we have built our business in both the commercial and government markets. We have had over 40 customers where database technology was a component of the service offering. |

| Zolon uses advanced data management technology to resolve sophisticated data management problems. Zolon works with Oracle, SQL, Informix, Sybase, Access, FoxPro, and Paradox. For example, a three-tier system Zolon developed for OTG/Legato used an Oracle database with over 800 data elements organized into 48 tables. The application tier uses Microsoft Transaction Server, while the Visual Basic 6 client tier was deployed at over 330 installed sites. Our innovative data management techniques were analyzed at the CMMI Maturity Level 3 and are producing cost, time and resource savings. Zolon has significant DBMS experience, including database support to 1700 users at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We have converted numerous databases from a legacy, older technology version to newer RDBMS systems and subsystems. |

| Database Maintenance |

| Database maintenance is a core competency of Zolon. We configure database tables, views, store procedures, triggers, macros, and query analyzers. Our personnel utilize numerous and varied storing and retrieving data tools and create standards for the use of such tools. We perform a wide range of database administration functions, run test queries, troubleshoot database problems and maintain version control of database entities. Zolon professionals perform routine backups and restores, manage database security policies and procedures, develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, conduct periodic maintenance of the databases (including table and query cleanup), and maintain database software licensing and maintenance agreements. We conduct performance tuning activities designed to optimize data management processes, and recommend performance enhancements such as increasing storage capacity or modifying interfaces working with desired applications. We also perform load balancing, redundancy and fault tolerance, optimize systems performance, reallocate resources and recommend additional components to improve overall system performance. |

| In applying our Data Management practices, Zolon has developed processes to monitor, test, and measure data extraction, transfers, and load activity for clients such as OTG/Legato Systems, Nextel, and CapitalOne. Some of our process techniques to accomplish this include measuring and ensuring both quality as well as quantity; in the case of Legato, we created various reports from the source and destination and compared them for discrepancies. Quantity was measured by comparing statistics from both the source and destination. For quality verification, random reports were created based on methodical criteria and then executed on both source and destination to obtain a complete match. |

| Zolon’s processes support migration from system to system – whether the originating system is a legacy one or not. Zolon has extensive experience maintaining and converting legacy systems and their databases. We have the ability to build and deploy new reusable services for targeted legacy and modernization systems. We have maintained legacy applications as required and then re-designed, built, and implemented them in new client/server or Web-enabled/accessible formats. This has assisted our clients in streamlining and modernizing their Information Systems and data transference capability. Additionally, when we upgrade a system or application, we take responsibility for software maintenance and in handling enhancements due to technical changes or user requirements. |
